On Wednesday night, I got to watch a bunch of guys skate around an ice rink with a silver cup hoisted over their heads. My beloved Tampa Bay Lightning won their second straight Stanley Cup championship with a 1-0 win over the Montreal Canadians.
If it seems like we just did this – well – we did.
Twenty-twenty has been a miserable year for sports fans. Coronavirus shut down sports back in March, leaving sports junkies to chose between blankly staring replays of 5-year-old football games or actually picking up a book.
But we’re starting to see signs of normalcy.
The World Cup kicked off this week. The international soccer tournament is the most-watched sporting event in the world. Over the next several weeks, teams from 32 countries will compete for the coveted FIFA World Cup Trophy.
